National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This aims to empower individuals and organisations to be proactive in protecting sensitive information and assets.

The importance of security in your supply chain

According to the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), “In recent years there has been a significant increase in the number of cyber attacks resulting from vulnerabilities within the supply chain. These attacks can result in devastating, expensive and long-term ramifications for affected organisations, their supply chains and their customers.

“Despite these risks, many companies lose sight of their supply chains. In fact, according to the 2022 Security Breaches Survey, just over one in ten businesses review the risks posed by their immediate suppliers (13%) and the proportion for the wider supply chain is half that figure (7%).”

Steps we’ve taken to protect your systems and data

As a responsible technology company, we’re committed to maintaining a high level of cybersecurity. After all, we’re part of your cybersecurity and you’re part of ours! Whereas the majority of our customers adhere to the Public Services Network, we voluntarily participate in two certification schemes: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.

About Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed certification scheme. It’s designed to protect organisations against common cyber threats. Requirements are reviewed regularly to take new threats into account.

About Cyber Essentials Plus

Cyber Essentials Plus differs from Cyber Essentials in that it includes a hands-on verification audit carried out by an external expert. This provides our clients with extra reassurance. As our MD, Mike Saunt, says, “Cyber Essentials Plus is the meaty component which is ever-evolving according to the needs of the modern security protocols.”

You can find out more about these certifications at our 2024 User Group where Mike will deliver a presentation on Cloud services.

Our end-to-end GIS (iShare in the Cloud) and our custom builds are hosted on a high availability cloud infrastructure with failover backup hosted in a different geographic region for maximum resilience. Services are continually monitored and rigorous backup procedures maintained.
