We’re on a mission to remain the market-leading open-source geospatial mapping consultancy. As a result, we’ve been busy growing the team by adding innovative thinkers and doers who share our values and ethos.
Here’s a brief intro to our latest recruits:
Gavin Kelly has joined the Product Team as a Customer Support Analyst. This is Gavin’s first role in GIS, having previously delivered support to a software company that provided housing repairs and enquiries software to housing associations and councils. As well as ensuring that support tickets raised are resolved in a timely manner, Gavin is also leading the way as we take our first foray into the world of video-based user guides.
Leigh McLaren Brierley has joined us as a Business Operations Executive aka the right-hand woman to our leadership team. As well as masterminding our recruitment and HR, Leigh will also be taking the lead on our social value and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) processes and policies. These will be far more interesting than they sound as they’ll define how we support our team and the wider GIS community. Look out for our first ESG news update in the next few weeks.
Toby Jarvis is our new Sales Account Manager. He has a strong background in GIS, having worked in the geospatial arena for five years. As well as helping clients identify the solutions they need, Toby will be representing Astun at GIS and data events in the North. You’ll be able to meet Toby and the rest of our sales team (Mark Wilcox, Mike Smith and Moira Livesey) at our ‘GIS in Action’ User Group in June. If you haven’t already booked a place, please do so now!
Following a two-decade-long stint in GIS and IT for Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, we’ve finally enticed David Renn over to the ‘dark side’. As a Technical GIS Consultant in our Professional Services team, he will be applying his expertise to the delivery of customer iShare projects and consultancy work, as well as delivering training in open source geospatial technologies.
