You’re invited to hear our Lead Data Discoverability Expert, Jo Cook, present at the AGI Scotland Annual Conference in Glasgow on February 27th.
Presentations at AGI Scotland
This year’s theme is “Valuing what we have – Maximising the Use of Data and Technology”, a subject matter close to Jo’s heart. Since arriving in the geospatial industry 20 years ago, Jo has specialised in the delivery of metadata and data management solutions.
Jo’s talk, ‘Standing on the shoulders of giants – not reinventing the wheel’, will explore the synergies between open source technologies, open standards and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) principles when implementing software solutions.
Jo will reference recent work we have undertaken building metadata catalogues for the Scottish Government and other organisations. The presentations will also explore concrete examples of where open principles and a collaborative, iterative approach have benefitted both the organisations involved and the wider community.
Other speakers include Mike Kerr from Scottish Forestry and Donya Davidson from NatureScot.
