Modules
The components that make up an iShare installation
iShare is a modular platform which means it deployment can be flexible. The basic iShare package includes, Data Share, My House, My Maps, My Nearest, and Studio. This represents the minimum iShare deployment. Customers can add additional modules as the need arises or sign up for our Open Enterprise Agreement. Here are brief descriptions for each iShare module:
Data Share
Data Share is our data harvesting engine, which literally sucks data from other departmental systems, using simple XML, caching it for use by iShare. This effectively makes iShare independent of other systems so for example if another system goes down or off line iShare will continue to work with the last received data.
My House
My House is the fast route to information about local services centered on where a person lives. Using a Council’s website a citizen simply enters his or her address or Postcode and is immediately presented with a web page that provides a wealth of information based on their property location.
My Maps
The central iShare application enables Local Authorities to introduce a mapping interface to their public facing websites enabling citizens to find out about services quickly.
Publisher
Publisher enables a Council to publish any of its back office data in a meaningful way via its website. Engage with your citizens by publishing your information, making it accessible and then enabling citizens to comment on it or post updates.
My Alerts
My Alerts enables a member of the public to sign up to a Local Authority alert service that automatically sends an email when any council related service event happens within a predefined distance from their house. The module plugs into My House and picks up any new additions to data for a particular location.
iShareGIS
iShareGIS is a new module which provides simple but powerful Intranet GIS functionality, which can be made available Council wide. iShareGIS seeks to enable all council staff to use the power of geographic information by providing powerful search, viewing, query, annotation, measuring and printing, with unlimited layers and map sources.
Logger
Logger enables citizens to report and locate (on a map) broken street lamps, abandoned cars, fly tipping, graffiti etc. and communicate this at the top level. It also enables iShare data and mapping functionality to be made available to CRM systems or web sites for easier fault reporting.
Logger integrates with e-forms on council websites and uses iShare's mapping and location capabilities to make it easy for citizens to locate a broken street light or any other incident precisely on a map. Using Logger, we have been been able to integrate these capabilities right into the CRM systems used by call centres, enabling the customer care assistants to use iShare's mapping capabilities in exactly the same way.

My News
My News enables citizens to sign up for council newsletters which are automatically created from existing content. My News provides Councils with the ability to centralise their recipient database and then control content and send. There's no longer a need for an independent or outsourced email marketing resource.
Studio
Adminsitration console. The Studio Module is installed by default with all iShare deployments. It is used to configure anything from map and data sources, to workflows and tile caches.
