External Web Services

External web services whether RSS, SOAP we're pulling in data from them

Pull data through such as NHS Choices (Doctors, Dentists etc), Crime data from National Crime Maps website, Roadworks from Elgin or ANY other web service available on the internet!

NHS Choices Syndication

After you've signed up for Syndication and have your key you can configure iShare to pull the syndicated data down, normally daily, to then process and create layers in PostGIS, ESRI Shape, MapInfo TAB etc.
The great thing with this syndication is that you can have up to date data without the data management overhead and comforted by the knowledge that all external links are current as they are sourced from the source database.

Elgin Roadworks

After you've signed up for Syndication and have your key you can configure iShare to pull the syndicated data down, normally daily, to then process and create layers in PostGIS, ESRI Shape, MapInfo TAB etc.

Local Events

A GeoRSS feed is available from the Cambridgeshire.net where local events are stored. Being in GeoRSS format means that Data Share, our data harvesting engine, can pull through data from this source and create GIS layers which can then have spatial queries such as Find My Nearest etc performed against them.

Crime Data

Data from the National Crime maps website example at the My Community section at My Torfaen.
